Our Story

When Brenco first started in 1982, owner, Loren Thoennes was custom thinning 5,000 acres of sugar beets for farmers in the Red River Valley. In 1984 Loren had the idea of turning Brenco (named after daughters Brenda and Colleen) into an industrial cleaning equipment company. The idea of selling cleaning equipment, specifically Kärcher, came to Loren when he was first introduced to the German-made pressure washer at a North Dakota fair. “I spent two days looking at a power washer in the booth next to me”. Loren, who had owned pressure washers in the past felt this was unlike anything he had ever seen. “I thought the washers were unique in technology and design, and that’s what I wanted in a product”.

Outgrowing each location and upgrading buildings twice, Brenco purchased their building in West Fargo in 2001. This location has since served as their showroom, warehouse, and parts & service department all under one roof.

In November 2011, because of Brenco’s continued success and ability to quickly serve their customers they were able to expand their facility with an additional 2,400 sq. ft. of shop/service space.

2014 kicked off with the addition of two new vendors. In January of 2014 Brenco expanded their Truck Mount and Restoration sales and service business by adding and stocking HydraMaster and US Products restoration equipment to their product line up.

After 5 straight years of #1 Dealer awards within the Karcher North America (KNA) family, KNA rewarded Brenco with the ability to represent Karcher, Landa, Windsor (now Windsor Karcher Group) and Cuda Parts Washers in April of 2015. This opportunity greatly expanded Brenco’s customer base to include all industries and market segments.

2016 continued to be a big year for Brenco, adding numerous product lines and expanding their presence in the jan-san and cleaning chemical & floor finish market place. 2016 opened the door to multiple new equipment lines to include: Taski & IPC Eagle. O-Cedar Commericial, Tolco Corporation, and North American Plastics were added to facilitate janitorial supplies and Multi-Clean was brought in to support Brenco’s chemical customers.

A second, off-site, storage facility has since been added a half block east of their current location. The 2,800 sq ft. added August of 2016 will now house Brenco’s entire stock inventory, allowing their service department to again expand within their current location.

In February of 2019, Brenco moved it’s location into a 14,000 square foot facility on Main Avenue in Fargo. This will help us keep everything under one roof from cleaning equipment to janitorial supplies. During this time, we also added warewash and laundry with the help from Intercon chemicals.
